Vintage 1940-Inspired Engagement || Sara & Glenn
Sara & Glenn’s engagement session feels like it was taken directly out of an old picture book of Annapolis in the 40s. A retro revival, if you will. I imagine the bustling streets of well-dressed folks headed to swing dance in west street clubs, a blend of Art Deco galleries with streamlined geometric design, and a bright modernist movement laying the undertone of conversation. It’s right in this pinpoint where we drop in Sara & Glenn to revive this romantic modernism. The inspiration for their session began with Sara’s engagement ring – a modern design from the 1940’s that was actually Glenn’s grandmother’s ring. Then add in Sara’s perfect emerald vintage dress, heirloom jewelry, a celluloid ring box, bowtie velvet pumps, gold-rimmed champagne flutes, and BOOM. Modern vintage vibes. After meandering around the State Building hitting up all of the old cast iron street lamps, we headed out to the edge of a sailboat-filled dock to pop some bubbly! The pure perfections of Sara’s face as they pop the champagne & then as they drink straight out of the bottles (after sipping out of the fancy gold-rimmed flutes, of course) are everything. Time to scroll & be transported back to the 1940s!
